DIY| CLAY DOLL

Last time when i have created a clay doll i have used the foam clay which was not giving good results so this time i have decided to make my own clay as my teacher has taught me years ago.

Clay Making

I have used cornflour and clay in same quantities and added just a small amount of oil in it, i have used cooking oil but any kind of oil can work perfectly for this clay. After finishing the mixing i have made a good dough and my clay was ready i have stored clay in air tight plastic bag and it was ready to use.

Clay Doll

After making clay i have started making clay doll. Where first i have made its base structure.

Then i have made the facial features of the doll where i have made blue eyes of the doll.

After the face i have made pink top of my doll and fancy arms.

For hairs i wanted to make small hairs, and of some color other than black so i have used purple.

I have finished in two parts. In this part i have made upper side of hairs.

Then i have made the arms of the doll with simple clay.

Lastly i have made a small pot in her hands. And here's the results.

CLay Review

To be honest i made this clay because it was difficult to handle cracks in foam clay but after using this clay i have realized this clay has more cracks to handel. Though this clay is so better in quality than foam clay and giving a touch of polymer clay but still it had cracks.
I have asked chatgpt for solution and i have got to know maybe my oil is not enough. So next time I'll add more oil in clay.
