Terminé el semestre en la universidad, tengo tiempo para otras cosas. Hablaré solo un poco de lo que he vivido; puedo decir que este fue el peor de todos en muchos sentidos, pasé por cosas muy desagradables.
Después del terremoto cancelaron los exámenes finales, y el concurso de dibujo y pintura que estaba organizando con la profesora de economía fue cancelado. Aunque ella dejó la opción de hacer algo para decorar el salón de cultura y danza.
Ella dijo algo muy interesante: Que se están formando profesionales vacíos y esa no es la idea. Ya es una etapa de educación superior, pero muchos somos jóvenes y simplemente idiotas en todo sentido. Lo entiendo en gran parte, no cuidan ni respetan la universidad, que ya está muy descuidada y dañada. Mi equipo, con el que hice las exposiciones de economía, y yo acordamos hacer el logo de la universidad para dejarlo en el salón de cultura.

I’ve finished the university semester, so I have time for other things. I’ll talk a little about my recent experiences; I can say that this was the worst semester of all in many ways—I went through some very unpleasant things.
After the earthquake, final exams were cancelled, as was the drawing and painting contest I was organizing with the economics professor. However, she did leave open the option of doing something to decorate the culture and dance room.
She made a very interesting point: That we are producing "empty" professionals, and that isn't the goal. Even though this is higher education, many of us are young and simply idiots in every sense of the word. I understand it to a large extent; people don't care for or respect the university, which is already quite neglected and damaged. My team—the one I worked with on the economics presentations—and I agreed to create the university logo to display in the culture room.

Hubiera estado genial hacer esa competencia de dibujo, quería mostrar muchas cosas.
Hablé con un artista local conocido por pintar murales. Queríamos elaborar una obra teatral o drama; él quería disfrazarse de payaso y hablar de valores. Dijo que eso está pasando en todas partes, algo como que las generaciones se han ido destruyendo moralmente en la universidad. Y claro, evaluar las pinturas y estar con todos los que participaran.
Universitarios que rayan las paredes e insultan a profesores de vital importancia. Es algo desagradable, pero hay muchos que serán ingenieros o contadores con esa mente vacía.

It would have been great to hold that drawing competition; I wanted to showcase a lot of things. I spoke with a local artist known for painting murals. We wanted to put together a play or dramatic piece; he wanted to dress up as a clown and talk about values. He mentioned that this is happening everywhere—a sense that generations are morally deteriorating within the university. And, of course, the plan involved judging the paintings and interacting with all the participants. University students who graffiti the walls and insult vital professors... It’s unpleasant, yet many of them will go on to become engineers or accountants with that empty mindset.

Pero bueno, retomando mi anterior publicación en esta comunidad, escribí sobre una mudanza y sobre mi nombre de usuario. Sí he tenido la idea de dejar la cuenta y hacer otra con un nombre más comercial, pero esto es Hive, una red social blockchain. Anyway, getting back to my previous post in this community: I wrote about moving house and about my username. I have considered abandoning this account and starting a new one with a more "commercial" name, but this is Hive—a blockchain-based social network. That might play a role, since being here is more about the community knowing and trusting you than having a "normal" or catchy name. I might do it later on, but for now, I’ll keep using *abaddon15*, since that’s the name people here know me by, and I don't think I should change that. Now all that's left is to organize my vacation; I have a lot to do.

Estoy empezando un nuevo curso de operaciones petroleras, tenía curiosidad sobre el tema y me lo estoy tomando bastante relajado. Es mucha teoría por ver sobre suelos para la extracción de hidrocarburos. Intento llevar un equilibrio. He tenido problemas con la ansiedad y estoy realizando actividad física para aliviar el estrés; estoy trotando en el polideportivo del pueblo e intentaré entrar a un gimnasio. Hacer ese curso de petróleo me ayuda a salir de casa y ocupar mi mente.
Inicié un proyecto de arte con mi amigo y otros artistas más.

I’m starting a new course on oil operations; I was curious about the subject, and I’m taking it pretty casually. There’s a lot of theory to cover regarding the terrain involved in hydrocarbon extraction. I’m trying to strike a balance. I’ve been struggling with anxiety, so I’m doing physical activity to relieve stress; I’ve been jogging at the local sports complex and plan to join a gym. Taking this oil course helps me get out of the house and keeps my mind occupied. I’ve started an art project with a friend and some other artists.

En aquella cuenta solo compartiré arte y dibujos míos. Intentamos dividirnos las actividades como hacer el maquetado, la redacción y publicación. Mis nuevos amigos quieren hacer un negocio, no sé si lograrán la meta de dinero así, pero no estoy tan al pendiente de eso; la mayoría del trabajo lo está haciendo @fcasanova. Con el frontend de Hive que he estado haciendo, debo estar al pendiente de las horas que cortan la electricidad. Nuestro nefasto sistema eléctrico, por las sequías y la ola de calor que está teniendo el país, hace un racionamiento eléctrico.

On that account, I’ll only be sharing my own art and drawings. We’re trying to divide up the tasks, such as layout design, copywriting, and publishing. My new friends want to turn it into a business—I’m not sure if they’ll reach their financial goals that way, but I’m not too focused on that; @fcasanova is doing most of the work. With the Hive frontend I’ve been building, I have to keep an eye on the power outage schedule. Due to droughts and the heatwave hitting the country, our terrible electrical system is enforcing power rationing.

Cortan la corriente eléctrica de cuatro a cinco horas casi todos los días. Es un problema, pero algún día acabará, o eso espero; obstruye el trabajo. NimeFriends solo necesita arreglar el registro con HiveSigner y el editor de publicaciones. De allí partiremos a innovar más, algo como cuentas ligeras que faciliten el ingreso a nuevos usuarios o alguna especie de galería cómoda de imágenes para publicaciones. No sé, tengo muchas ideas para desarrollar, debe tener algo que no tienen los demás. No lo sé, solo tengo que organizar el trabajo y no desesperarme con los constantes apagones.

The power gets cut for four to five hours almost every day. It’s a problem—though hopefully, it will end someday—and it really hinders the work. NimeFriends just needs the HiveSigner registration and the post editor fixed. From there, we’ll move on to further innovations—maybe lightweight accounts to make it easier for new users to join, or a user-friendly image gallery for posts. I don’t know; I have plenty of ideas to develop. It needs to offer something the others don’t. I’m not sure yet—I just need to organize the work and not let the constant blackouts drive me crazy.
