Digestion of gum takes 7 years
If you believe this legend, the gum that you swallowed in late 2010 is still in your body. While it is impossible to determine the origin of that myth, it is fairly easy to refute it.
The gum is rubbery because it contains an industrial rubber base, which is simply indigestible. But this does not mean that swallowing can not complete the journey through your digestive system.
