The Boring Bus Ride

The bus ride from Davao to Manila was very boring. The air was hot and sticky, and the seats felt hard after hours of sitting. All I saw for hours were rice fields stretching like green carpets and small towns. I was almost asleep, my head bumping against the window, when everyone suddenly gasped. A boy near the front shouted, “Look!” Mount Mayon was in the distance, a huge, dark mountain against the bright blue sky. It was stunning; a perfect cone shape, like a giant ice cream scoop, dark and impressive, but also very beautiful.

The Unforgettable Stop
The bus driver stopped right by the roadside so we could all see it. For a little while, it was completely quiet no engine noise, no babies crying, no one talking just everyone looking at the mountain. Even the driver took out his phone to take a photo! We all took photos, but they couldn’t really show how tall and perfect it looked. It was a wonderful experience, like the whole world paused for a minute.

A Lesson from the Mountain
Seeing Mount Mayon like that made the whole trip much better. It wasn’t just a mountain; it was a surprise gift. It changed a boring journey into something I’ll always remember. Now, when I feel bored, I think about that moment. I’ll never forget that beautiful mountain; it showed me that even boring trips can hide magical surprises if you pay attention.
