Leslie's last wish

Leslie passed away on March 17th, 2017 from chronic kidney and renal failure. She was a veteran that served during the Vietnam war with honors and distintion.

Leslie had a kind and giving heart and would always help anyone in need. Her kidney disease left her bedridden for five years with constant pain and suffering that required expensive medical care.

Much of Leslie's medical care was not covered by her insurance, so she took out a home equity loan to pay for the life saving treatments and medicines. Once Leslie's kidney failure and renal disease progressed to the point that medicine could no longer help her, she feverishly worked to pay off the home equity loan.

Leslie's last and dying wish was for her house to go to her daughter, who has the Fischer's variant of Gullian Barre Syndrome, a very aggressive nuromuscular disease. The house has been extensively modified for her daughter's health needs with very specialized and hard to replace equipment.

Sadly, Leslie was not able to complete her dying wish. She passed away before she could pay off the home equity loan. All of Leslie's creditors were very understanding and helpful in keeping Leslie's wish for her house to go to her daughter, except one.

The bank that held the home equity loan has been very uncooperative and aggressive in the matter of Leslie's daughter keeping the house. At one point, the bank made it very clear verbally that "was of no consequence to them if Leslie's daughter ended up on the street and that all that mattered to them was that they got their money". The level of stress that this bank has caused Leslie's daughter has been so severe that her daughter hasn't even been able to grieve the loss of her mother yet.
