Why I only get one key from signup via ecency instead of four keys and is that one key master key?

Hi I am new to hive. I have a question would not be paying here of I could find an easy answer but I didn't so have to bother you guys.
My friend joined hive before me he used hiveonboard for sign up while I signed up from ecency I want to avoid giving in my mobile number if I can but it turns out that he got four different keys while I just got one. If ecenecy is just the front end, then I should also be getting the same amount of treatment as he is. Or does ecency follow different procedure cause I am able to power up my hive so it is safe to assume the key which I got is atleast equal to active keys. There is also a key change option so do I only get one master or owner key for all the purposes only that can be used for all purposes.
