PORTAL (5-minute Freewrite)

Angela stood at the entrance of the portal. Exit? It was hard to tell standing on one side or the other. But inside. Inside the transition point formed between two portals. That was the one place Angela felt like she was where she belonged.

She started as a Chronoguide right out of high school. Her first job had been ticket taking, and concessions. The boredom overwhelmed her and she started poking around for more tasks when the Senior Chronoguides were out on tour.

Angela could never forget her first Passage. The exhilaration and sense of purpose. Transitioning made her feel alive. Based on her classmate's gossip, transitioning was about the same as being under the star quarterback in the bed of a truck after Homecoming.
