Old Kings #Februairy2025
After reading @juliakponsford post about daily AI art prompts, I decided to give it a try. The prompt for day 7 was "Typography," and for day 8, it was "Portrait".
At first, I thought typography was boring thing to make with AI and felt uninspired. But then, an idea struck me. I’ve always been fascinated by the unreadable typography often seen in black metal band logos (is there a specific term for that?). So, I decided to replicate that aesthetic using Stable Diffusion XL, which I run locally. I had installed ComfyUI a few months ago but hadn’t found the inspiration to use it until now. This daily prompts challenge was exactly what I needed to get started. I generated around a hundred variations of unreadable text and selected a few images that stood out to me. From those, I created GIFs.
For some reason, this aesthetic really resonated with me. It even inspired me to dive into NTS black metal mixtapes, like this one or this one.
When the next day’s prompt challenged me to create portraits with SDXL, I decided to stick with this same dark, black metal-inspired aesthetic.
I’m really happy with how this portrait and its animation turned out. I’m still learning how to make proper GIFs, so they might load a bit slowly, but I hope you enjoy them!

I only did two as well. I tried the ‘reversed perspective’ prompt, but I didn’t manage to generate anything with such perspective

I think we can go at our own pace because it’s hard to do it every day, but there are so many interesting ideas to explore. And some ideas in the list that not seem as promising at first can lead to even more fascinating results.

@aemile-kh For these daily challenges, I like to combine 2 concepts for one post, and do it every other day or every three days.
The first one I chose was love, which is the simplest, and movies, which is for tomorrow.
Do something basic, because I haven't learned how to make GIFs.
