Olive growing is the cultivation and exploitation of olive trees in order to produce table olives or olive oil.

The olive tree (Olea europaea L.) is a fruit tree that produces olives, a fruit consumed in various forms and from which one of the main edible oils, olive oil, is extracted. It is the variety, domesticated for several millennia and cultivated mainly in the regions of Mediterranean climate, of one of the subspecies of Olea europaea, a species of trees and shrubs of the Oleaceae family.
