Lada Aceh (Pepper)

Pepper latin called Piper Ningrum is a plant of the family piperaceae and is slightly bitter and spicy. In general, white pepper and black pepper are used as kitchen spices. And for me pepper is one of the items that should be in the kitchen. Therefore I call it "The King Of Spice"

Pepper was an important worldwide commodity of Aceh. This spice became a major capital of Aceh during the colonialism era. Historically, Acehnese pepper was a favorite commodity from Aceh, along with camphor, benzoin gum, spearmint, cinnamon, and gold. During that time, the traditional agricultural field relied on it, as it relied on rice in recent days; farmers during that time mostly cultivated pepper, while nowadays, they cultivated rice.

Nowadays, several area in Aceh as Aceh Besar, Bireun, Aceh Utara, Lhokseumawe, and Aceh Utara start to promote pepper cultivation again. The development of it is possible since Aceh has many areas for it. Furthermore, Aceh has suitable climate for cultivating pepper. However, plant diseases as Fusarium oxyforum will become a challenge upon it.
