La mayoría de las veces deseo que el tiempo sea fresco y me encanta la lluvia y esos días donde puedo hacer mi vida cotidiana sin tanto calor y sudor de por medio. Hoy en día agradezco cuando no llueve; hay muchas familias a las que se les inunda su casa, incluyendo la mía, que se moja afuera, pero es algo muy superficial, y pienso en bonito un perrito al cual alimento y doy amor casi todos los días y pienso que se puede mojar, aunque sé que es muy inteligente y busca su refugio. Most of the time, I prefer cool weather; I love the rain and those days when I can go about my daily life without dealing with so much heat and sweat. These days, however, I’m grateful when it doesn’t rain; many families—including mine—face flooding issues. While my house only gets wet on the outside (a minor inconvenience), I worry about a sweet dog I feed and care for almost daily; I think about him getting wet, even though I know he’s smart enough to seek shelter. I pray every day that God gives me the means to help all the abandoned dogs out there.

Cuando me levanté, le di comida a Pandora. Estaba jugando con Perlita, que es la más juguetona; ella no come tan temprano. Luego me desayuno un pan con café junto a mi esposo, pero antes de desayunar me hice un té de cúrcuma con limón. Lo más gratificante es que busque el limón en mi mata en la parte de atrás de mi jardín.

When I woke up, I fed Pandora. She was playing with Perlita—the playful one of the bunch—though Perlita doesn't usually come around that early. Then, I had a piece of bread and coffee with my husband, but not before making myself some turmeric and lemon tea. The best part was picking the lemon straight from the tree in my backyard.

(Mi primer amor )

Luego me fui a mi casa a hacer almuerzo, terminar de trabajar en mis redes, incluyendo Hive. Escribir en un cuaderno nuevo que me hace recordar mi niñez tiene hasta unos stickers; ahí anoto mis pensamientos y así mejoro mi escritura, ya que uso más que todo el teléfono y la computadora ahora.

Then I went home to make lunch and finish working on my social media, including Hive. I’ve been writing in a new notebook—one that reminds me of my childhood and even has stickers in it—to jot down my thoughts and improve my writing, since I mostly use my phone and computer these days.

Cerrando el día, me siento a ver televisión; últimamente me gusta ver documentales y algo que me deje un aprendizaje o cuestionar todo lo que va pasando en el mundo. Esto me hace alejarme de las redes; es algo que estaba buscando desde hace meses.

To wind down the day, I sit and watch TV. Lately, I’ve been into documentaries—things that teach me something new or make me question what’s happening in the world. It helps me disconnect from social media, something I’ve been wanting to do for months.

Así fue mi día, queridos lectores. Espero que hoy hayan aprendido algo nuevo, que llamen a ese familiar con el que tienen tiempo sin hablar, coman algo rico y agradezcan a Dios todo.

That’s how my day went, dear readers. I hope you learned something new today, called that family member you haven't spoken to in a while, ate something delicious, and thanked God for everything.

En esa libreta anoto todo lo que pienso y no digo; me hace viajar al tiempo cuando era niña y es que dicen que jamás se debe morir el niño interior; además, me ayuda a mejorar la lectura.

In that notebook, I jot down everything I think but don't say; it takes me back to my childhood—after all, they say the inner child should never die—and it also helps me improve my reading.
