Mining Eth and Eth Classic, Thoughts on Prices and Mining Difficulty

I have been observing the mining difficulty for each cryto daily and etc has actually dropped in mining difficulty.

The amount of fiat dollar mined per week does not change whether mining or mining eth classic.

My question is why does this not change?

Are there a huge group of miners controlling the difficulty?

As far as I know the devs for both teams do not work together and are completely different.
