These four walls have seen
The worst nightmares
Crippling and taking mere sanity.
It comes every night
To give what's deserved
To take what you have
To grieve what's left.
It hunts and it preys
Poor lambs in wilderness
Chronic anxiety
Gnashing teeth
Bitten fingernails.
Try to sleep and you will know
How it feeds to uneasy hearts
Sweaty palms
Cold feet
Dark suicidal thoughts.
Its is powerful yet humble
Intimidating yet formless.
It comes in various shapes!
You'll wish you were never born
But its true torture
Is leaving you alive and barely breathing.
Then it comes back
To repeat,
To torment,
As long as it keeps you,
As long as you keep it.
Fear is a very raw and powerful feeling. It overthrows even the mightiest of all the heroes, and shaken even the strongest core. It surely is strong and terrifying, but we should remember that fear is just a stimulus -- it resides within us. It is up to us if we let it live and feed onto our daily lives and if we decide to outcast it. We are the only ones in control of our lives. Fear no fear.
