Hello there! Yes, spotlights on me. I will be introducing myself although my drums do it better. I’m Akinlade Akinbola also known as Akinara. I am a music LOVER and a strong believer of MIBWID, a concept that emphasizes that music is clearly better with drums. So, get ready to move along to my rhythms, feel the tension and anticipate the build ups because drumming is all I do 💪

In my years of experience, I have discovered some secrets to the art and to ease your pains I’m very willing to share my knowledge. The west African talking drum, is a beauty on her own and to understand her takes skill, practice and patience. Fortunately, my blog will be here to instruct and guide you on the path to unveiling all her hidden treasures.

The talking drum is locally called "Gangan" in Nigeria. It derives this name from its unique ability to communicate and imitate voice patterns. Fascinating huh? Yeah, I thought so. Tag along to my posts, check out my videos and write ups.
