A turbine extracts energy from a moving fluid, while the other two add energy to it.Another way of saying this is that a turbine de-pressurizes the fluid while the other two pressurise it. the different between  a fan and apropeller is a bit tricky though. ... 3- A fan is always enclosed, while the propeller is not.
