🎤 Microfoni assurdi… e dove provarli! Ep. 4 🎤
Questa volta ho testato due Sony F-25, microfoni dinamici cardioidi, piazzandoli sui tom per vedere come si comportano. Non sono fatti per questo scopo… ma il risultato potrebbe sorprenderti! 🥁🎙️

🎤 Weird Microphones… and Where to Test Them! Ep. 4 🎤
This time, I tested two Sony F-25 dynamic cardioid microphones, placing them on the toms to see how they perform. They weren’t made for this purpose… but the result might surprise you! 🥁🎙️

They don't seem too bad on toms, but then those may not have such a range of frequency information. A snare or cymbal would be a different matter.
!BEER
In my opinion, it should be considered that they are dynamic mics anyway, so on cymbals they may not have the right frequency range and perhaps do not translate transients well. Precisely for this reason I considered them suitable for toms :-)
They’ve a good low end maybe because they’re designed for recording people’s voices that occupy a very different range in terms of frequency.
Loved the performance in this video. Kind of fancy an electronic drum kit because I don’t want to go full on with it. Sticking mainly to the keys.
Yes, I agree. They surprised me, I must say.
Do you use anything special for drums?
They’re really interesting because so often people will go with whatever is industry standard for a particular instrument, Sennheiser, Rode etc.
I don’t own any real drums and being an electronic musician, I’m all drum machines and samplers. Hardware and DAW.
I quite fancy a https://www.andertons.co.uk/yamaha-fgdp50-drum-finger-pad/ as an alternative to my trusty old SP-404.
Incidentally I’m looking to gather drum samples to build kits on it.
My thoughts exactly!!!
Clearly there is quality about brands, my search is really about finding some hidden gems. It's a long road full of obstacles but it's really fun :-)
I am very curious about teenage engineering Ep 133, but I should have a lot of time to learn how to use it, I'm afraid...
However I am very fascinated by the electronic world, synths etc...
Keep on going with your series and will be great to encourage more Italians to join hive. I’ve no idea how popular it is over there. I’ll ask @steevc!
I very nearly purchased an EP133 when they came out and decided to stick with learning the 404 instead due to its versatility.
I’m currently exploring more in the way of music theory to enhance my keyboard playing skills and one of the reasons I bought the Hydrasynth recently.
I too should study music theory a bit more, instinct can only guide me so far in fact, I realise that...
Hydrasynth is a super instrument, I heard it from a fellow musician.
Someone else took my Italy list and improved it. We have a few Hivers there, including some musicians.
Nice!
