Usually the 2nd post from new users is a reality check after getting some once time upvotes from an introduction post.

Upvotes are quite hard to come by on Steemit and it tends to take a lot of effort and time to get some of them consistetly. Good news is that it can be done, I stared an alternative account myself some time back from zero and wrote about the process of getting regular upvotes there in these series of posts which might be helpful to getting you going (Steemit Upvotes)
