Bought My First Instrument Today!

I have been wanting a guitar or ukulele for a long time now, and today I finally bought a one.

I went to the music store and the rep showed me a Malala Tenor Ukulele and I knew that was the one for me...

Today in total I've spent about 8 hours reading and watching YouTube videos while playing along.

My fingers hurt, my hands got quite a workou​t. On my strumming hand my pointer fingernail broke (it hurts) but the show must go on!

I did buy a pick, but it only makes my uke louder in our apartment... I’m sure the neighbors who already hate me, hate me more now...

Ly is a huge fan of music so when I told her what I bought she instantly wanted to try!
We spent sometime tonight jamming out, me practicing (well everything) and her singing her little heart out.

Makes me happy when she’s happy.

And it makes me happy finally getting the hang of these fucking strumming patterns...

I tuned my uke myself and I was proud.

I am really excited about​ my musical journey. I’m also stoked to look more into the @openmic contest because I know playing an instrument is a rule...
