STATEWIDE WILDFIRE EMERGENCY
Currently, the air quality in Salem, Oregon is poor, this means it is recommended to not go outside unless necessary. The next level is hazardous.
Believe it or not, there were 160 wildfires this summer.
This photo shows the haze that overtook Crater Lake a few weeks ago.

Nature has gotten the best of us (as she always will) the last few years around this time; last year, some punk caught The Columbia River Gorge on fire.
I thought I had a post about Eagle Creek up on my blog (this is where the fire started) but I don't, so stay tuned for photos. This trail is now closed and under re-construction.
This image was today at 7:20 this morning.
A super hazy sky equals a blood-orange sun.
Our house has been lit up by bright red light, the smoke gets trapped in the valley.
The fires are super unfortunate, but on the bright side; the smoke helps in creating stunning sunrises & sunsets.
I'd say this was an overall interesting post...

Oh no! I hope things clear up soon. It sure does make for some pretty dramatic skies though.
When I was driving through Oregon about this time last year to see the total solar eclipse, I remember how awfully thick the wildfire smoke was. My sympathies.

I wanna be able to go outside, but as of now it doesn’t matter what direction we travel it’s Smokey.
It’s not as thick (yet) as last year which is good, but it’s overall unfortunate.
Mmhmm. The CA wildfires this year were playing havoc with the air quality in the valley, Yosemite has been closed for much of the summer. I feel your pain.
