This is my post for the battle weekly challenge - LAVA SPIDER.

I will use the fire splinter as well. My strategy is to put tank monsters with shield ability in the first and second position meanwhile the rest monsters will be the range attack monsters with the snipe ability.

3rd	Centaur	https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/cards_by_level/beta/Centaur_lv4_gold.png	Snipe	My favorite range attack monster from neutral splinter. Targets the opposing magic and range monsters with 2 range attacks.
4th	Fire Beetle	https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/cards_by_level/beta/Fire Beetle_lv4_gold.png	Snipe	Targets the opposing magic and range attack monsters.
5th	Lava Spider	https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/cards_by_level/chaos/Lava Spider_lv4.png	Snipe	Team up with Centaur and Fire Beetle to target the opposing magic and range attack monsters.
6th	Fire Demon	https://d36mxiodymuqjm.cloudfront.net/cards_by_level/beta/Fire Demon_lv2_gold.png	-	Attack the first place of the opposing monster with 2 range attacks. I put him in the last position because he has the larger health among the range attack monsters because there is a big chance the opponent will use melee attack monsters with sneak ability.

BATTLE

ROUND 1

• Opponents use fire splinter as expected but something goes wrong with the positioning of his cards. He puts 3 melee attack monsters behind Gelatinous Cube. Those monsters don't have reach, opportunity, & sneak ability so they can't attack my monster until they are in the first place or position. He might have misunderstood the applicable rule set in the battle. Sometimes this is also happening to me if I do not see the ruleset carefully.

• Centaur got the first attack chance.

• There was not much attack activity from the opponent only Goblin Shaman and Fire Beetle do while my range attack monsters keep attacking Goblin Shaman.

• The opposing Goblin Shaman is killed at the end of round 1.

ROUND 2

• The opposing Fire Beetle is killed as well at the end of round 2.

ROUND 3

• Starting from round 3 is a slow killing process.
• My range monsters keep attacking the opposing monster in the first position and the opposing monsters can't do much.

DID MY STRATEGY WORK?

• I'm not sure since the opponent made a mistake in the card positioning.

CONCLUSION

• In my view, Lava Spider & Fire Beetle are equally good at level 4.
• Starting from level 6, Lava Spider is better than Fire Beetle because he has an additional ability which is the snare.

WHAT WILL I TRY DIFFERENTLY NEXT TIME

• I will use Lava Spider especially for the low mana battle, little league, noxious fumes, and close range rulesets.

• Lava Spider level 4 above already has 2 range of damages.
