Transferring ETC (ethereum classic) - today's experience

A while ago i transfered my ETC to ETC Emerald wallet, to be eligible for the Callisto airdrop. Back then my experience was very positive as everything went very smoothly - the wallet setup without issue, it opened without delays and transfer was fast and non-problematic.

Today i transfered some of the ETC back to an exchange and it took me 3 hours to get it done...
The first problem was i needed to update the Emerald Wallet from my 0.8 version to the 0.10 version, and for that i needed to uninstall the 0.8 version. Uninstallation hung up two times before successfully completing, even though my system is completely clean as i use it only for a few clean wallets.
After installing version 0.10, the wallet was stuck in the starting screen, and i could not do anything with it. Seems the issue was in old configuration files which persisted despite the uninstall process. Manually removing them solved the problem.

But the biggest grievance i had is with the transfer time as the wallet itself needs 12 confirmations and Bittrex requires additional 72. This takes quite a long time, really unnecessarily at this stage of ETC's blockchain.

I'm just reporting my experience and this is my HUMBLE opinion
