Embracing the change

Changing my residential address was one of the hardest decisions I've made this year because I had lived at my previous residence, Elelenwo, for over 25 years. Trust me, it has been difficult for both me and my family socially.
We moved from Elelenwo to Alakahia in Rivers State, and anyone who knows Port Harcourt well would know that these two places are quite far apart. Although almost all our lives and memories are tied to Elelenwo, we were determined to build new memories here in Alakahia. That was what we thought until...

We encountered another obstacle. The house we were supposed to move into had been left in a terrible condition by the previous occupants(the house is not safe because the gates the main gate had all corroded I couldn't get the whole thing), and we had to carry out extensive repairs. The work is a lot, but when we are done, I know the house will be beautiful.

Right now, I am staying with my daughter, who recently gave birth. I am taking care of my first grandson while she attends her classes.
She moved here two years ago to further her studies at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT). This area is not very developed, but the presence of the university and the high demand for housing due to overpopulation have brought a little development. I honestly describe this place as a "developed village." Even the network service is poor and causes a lot of frustration for everyone.
Anyway, my daughter found her lifetime partner, and they now have a child. I am currently helping to care for my grandson.
I honestly feel it is my duty to take good care of my daughter and grandson until he starts weaning. Once he begins weaning, I will be able to leave him more in her care.
Change is the only permanent thing in life, and I have had to embrace it as it came.
Whenever change comes your way, try to embrace it. It may just be a caterpillar transforming into a beautiful butterfly. 🦋
