The Monster Within

Cute we are born.
Innocent we grow.
But there lies a monster within,
That will smash our face against the larva of life.

It whispers into our ears softly.
But it sounds like screams of Hades.
Because the monster within despises the weak.

We try to fight it.
And we fail.
Because the monster within is all we have.
It is what we will ever be.
It is what draws out the fire within us.

The monster within keeps us alive.
There is no good to fight the monster within,
But to learn to accept it.
Like the yin and yang,
We can't live without the monster within.
