AMBR .GAS. Implementation Cost

Ambr's operating environment is known as the AVM (Ambr Virtual Machine). Each node participating in the network will run AVM as part of the block-verification protocol. All nodes in each network perform the same calculations and store the same values. Contract execution is repeated multiple times in all nodes, making the execution of the contract very expensive. In order to encourage the nodes in the network to actively participate in the calculation while discouraging malicious intents, a Gas fee is charged for calculation.

In Ambr, the fee is designed to deal with dust attacks ( the attacker sends a large amount of unnecessary but expensive garbage transactions between accounts, like null transactions, to congest the network). When anyone issues a transaction, a flat fee is required. The result is that an attacker's cost of attack is greatly increased, highly discouraging attacks. Also, in order to encourage the verifier to verify more transactions, the fee serves as a reward for work done.
