𝑮𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑻𝒓𝒖𝒍𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚

Oh my Gosh.. It's been a minute. Hold on I'll tell you exactly what I've been up to.

It's been almost two weeks since I last made my post and truth be told, never did a day pass by without hoping to write but I just couldn't.

I was way too occupied with work and my mind went blank as to putting down my thoughts on here because each day needed a lot of preparation.

You see, two weeks ago, I hosted a free sewing summer class for people around my neighborhood and beyond. I never envisaged the massive turn up, I was gobsmacked!

That required renting chairs to accommodate them. I was glad regardless, because teaching is my forte.

For the free summer class schedule, I taught the students different techniques like zipper bulge elimination, how to see dart the right way, how to draft a basic bodice, tummy bulge elimination, how to fix zippers properly, how to draft and sew a basic skirt with bands and so much more.

It was such an interactive class session , after which I gave them assignment to draft, cut and sew theirs.

They outdid themselves even at the first trial.

There was a boy who was just nine years old yet very passionate about this profession. The effort he put within the three days was so inspiring. He was determined and showed up interested and prepared. He never skipped his assignment and that alone was refreshing to my mind.

It was a whole experience and if I ever have the resources in the future, I'll honestly host nother free class.

Today I have a little time to rest and rejuvenate before Monday when my next batch resumes.

And my was gladdens as my ex students sent me picture of a prom dress she made with the recent techniques I taught her. Knowledge is indeed power, only when it is shared.
