Bungker Kaliadem

The Kaliadem bunker, which has existed since the colonial era, was built to protect itself from the ferocious Mount Merapi. But this place is not functioning properly. During the eruption in 2006, two volunteers who took refuge in this bunker were swept away by a hot cloud in it.

No wonder the Kaliadem Bunker is now one of the tourist destinations around Merapi. This place holds quite a lot of fierce trails of Mount Merapi. In the Kaliadem Bunker there is a 15 cm thick steel main door, a bunker room that still has remnants of Merapi material, and a rock-covered top with volcanic sand.
