Cats really like to sleep, maybe you think that because the cat is active at night, so when the day he sleep. Means you pay less attention when the night. Cats also sleep at night, only instinctively he is more activity when night.
Cats spend 2/3 time to rest, do not be surprised if you often see the cat is sleeping.
