She is a human being
Not a possession
She has a beautiful mind
She is a blessing

She is a human being
That laughs and cries
She is half the world's population
She is a miracle realized

She is a human being
The mother of the world
She is a passionate force
She is an innocent girl

She is a human being
She is not a sexual object
She is not born to service you
She is not here to blindly obey you, too

She is a human being
Living a life of constant vigilance
She wants to trust
But too often, men known
And unknown betray us

She is a human being
Without her, life ends
She brought you into this world
On her, you constantly depend

She is your equal
Even when you pretend
She is your partner
Your family and your friend

She is a human being
Like you, her life will end
But why does she have to be
Beaten, raped, chopped and murdered
By callous, cowardly men?

She is a human being
And that fact can't be changed
You can hurt her, break her and kill her
But her spirit will forever remain
