En esta ocasión, les traigo un proyecto ingenioso: transformar unos vaqueros aburridos en unos totalmente modernos y cómodos. Esta transformación es muy fácil y podemos hacerla en casa con nuestros propios materiales. Ayer estuve muy ocupada con este proyecto y, a pesar del día lluvioso que causó cortes de luz, terminé mi trabajo con gran satisfacción. This time, I'm bringing you an ingenious project: transforming a pair of boring jeans into a totally modern and comfortable pair. This transformation is very easy, and we can do it at home with our own materials. Yesterday I was very busy with this project, and despite the rainy day that caused power outages, I finished my work with great satisfaction. Friends, here's my pair of jeans that are a bit boring since I've had them for a while. I want to give them a new look and make the most of them. Lay them out on a fairly wide surface to start with the first step, and cut along the side seams. Then measure about 5 cm starting from the side seam.

What I did was cut strips slightly longer than the pants, as you need more to secure the elastic and hem them. This one is approximately 8,5 cm wide. These strips are made of monkey fabric, as it's a bit thick, ideal for these jeans.

Sew the monkey fabric strips along the sides and length of the pants to begin the transformation.
Corte tiras de tela blanca para coserla sobre la tela azul marino. La tela que usé para las rayas es popelina; corte tiras de unos 2,5 cm de ancho. Puedes usar cinta de gross y evitar coser.
Cut strips of white fabric to sew onto the navy blue fabric. The fabric I used for the stripes is poplin; cut strips about 2.5 cm wide. You can use grosgrain ribbon and avoid sewing.
Ahora hilvane estás tiras antes de comenzar a coser en la máquina para que queden prolijas.
Now baste these strips together before you start sewing them on the machine so they look neat.

As you can see, we've finished sewing these white strips to the blue one. We'll do this on both sides and then close the side openings to finish the pants. Just attach the elastic and drawstring.

At the top of each side, we attached a 4 cm long elastic band and sewed it in place. We also sewed the hem of the pants.
