Mucho gusto, Ana Iris. Nice to meet you, Ana Iris.

Hello to all members of this community, which I join arm in arm with my friend Yanerkis Diaz Ozuna, @yanerkidiaz, and my niece Gretel Victoria @gretvictcald. They not only cultivated my curiosity but also captivated my spirit by telling me how enjoyable the collective experience is.
My name is Ana Iris Ruiz Hernández. I am from a small town in Pinar del Río called San Luis, which has the best land for growing tobacco. The work involved in its cultivation is a strong tradition passed down from generation to generation. In San Luis lands, to everyone's pride, the leaves that shape the Vegas Robaina brand are grown and harvested.

San Luis is a town of shiny roofs that replaced the blackened tiles many hurricanes tore off completely, and of Ionic, Doric, and fluted columns that welcome travelers. Its noble and simple people are its most precious treasure. Its womb gave shelter to the birth of great figures of Cuban culture: Alberto Alonso, Atilano Armenteros Ramos, Vigilio González Solar, Yenny Van Van, Alejandro Cuervo, David Santa Fe and René Valdés.
Personally, I am a teacher. I work at a high school and I am a mother. I like to read, write short stories and poems (some have been awarded and published), sing, visit new places, talk, make friends, and listen — especially listen to the people around me, my friends, and of course, all kinds of music. I love watching movies and being able to positively influence the lives of the people I meet, which commits me to improve myself and to be and know something more every day.

My chest expands — rather, it grows — after recognizing that I was not wrong in choosing my profession; that a cat's child must catch mice, because I come from a lineage of teachers, and I proudly identify as a teacher.
The magic of teaching has become my soul's nourishment. Shaping, building, transforming, feeling the metamorphosis of the chrysalis — that is what teaching means to me.
Each class becomes a journey through classical, medieval, Renaissance, and modern literature, getting to know its authors and their contexts, dialoguing with them, and achieving the crystallization of their contrasts. That is the most enjoyable challenge that my students and I accomplish together.
I am a theater enthusiast, and for a time I was a member of the Casandra theater group, which allowed me to win awards and participate in festivals both inside and outside my country. I can enjoy any type of play and author, but I really like the works of Cuban authors, because they are a kind of chronicle of the different contexts and eras in which they were written, as if they were enjoyable history lessons. The privilege of being a member of the Casandra theater group broadened my perception of the difficult art of stage performance and earned me respect for all those who dedicate themselves to such a beautiful art. Each character means giving voice and body to a soul that does not belong to you; it is the most real form of corporeal a
Writing a text about oneself is always very difficult for me. I hope you find this one adequate, or at least pleasant.
