Zeit für COOKSTRAIT.FACTS :-) Die Herausforderungen für das Durchschwimmen der Cookstrait sind: Gezeitenströme, plötzliche Winde, kreuzende Schiffe und Haie. Der erste erfolgreiche Schwimmer war der damals 27-jährige Neuseeländer Barry Devonport, der am 20. November 1962 für die Distanz 11:20 Stunden benötigte.

It's time for some COOKSTRAIT FACTS again:-). There are a couple of challenges if you want to cross the Cookstrait, among these are: tidal currents, heavy wind and a lot of ship traffic. On 20 November, 1962 27 year old Barry Devonport, also a New Zealand native, was the first one to successfully cross the Cookstrait in 11:20 hrs.
