Nerine Flower

Nerines are a beautiful flower growing from a bulb in autumn. Through late winter and spring they produce a multitude of strap like leaves which drop before the flowering season in many of the varieties, others may be evergreens. Mine are deciduos and bear pink flowers on a bare stem without leaves.

The pink flowers are a pleasant splash of colour in the late Autumn when the rest of the flowers are finished.

A number of flowers are borne atop a single stem.

A very hardy flower, it takes drought, frost, neglect and poor nutrients in its stride and just keeps on keeping on, producing their umbrel of flowers year in year out, highly recommend giving them a go.

These are closely related to the Belladonna Lily or Naked Lady, which they closely resemble.
