My experience using HivePulse for Web3 optimization

Content optimization on the Hive blockchain using the HivePulse tool allows content creators to improve their visibility in search engines like Google and get their articles cited by AI. In this post, I share my experience participating in the HivePulse SEO contest, analyzing the process of revising my draft to achieve a high score.

Although I didn't make it to the top three in the first week of the contest, the experience taught me fundamental lessons about how to structure my posts. The main goal of learning to use HivePulse isn't just to compete for a prize, but to create valuable posts that help Hive become visible to thousands of organic readers outside our ecosystem.

This is how I transformed my previous post step-by-step using the extension's recommendations and the development team's tips in the following post.

📉 Analyzing my first draft

When writing my first draft and opening the HivePulse extension, I found an initial SEO score of 34/100.

I knew I needed to make several important adjustments if I wanted to break the 80-point barrier. The extension provides clear guidance on what I'm missing, so I decided to put in extra effort to ensure my content was written clearly and directly.

🛠️ First Corrections: Title, Description, and Tags

I started by adjusting the basic elements of the post:

  • I selected a focused keyword.

  • I added a short description in the editor's advanced menu.

  • I organized the main tags.

After making these initial modifications, the HivePulse extension registered an immediate improvement in the SEO score.

🚀 Optimizing the text to reach 80+ points

To further improve the score, I made more in-depth adjustments to the content structure:

  1. I modified the title to include the keyword at the beginning.

  2. I refined the wording of the first paragraph to provide a quick answer to the main topic.

  3. I adjusted the number of tags to keep only the most relevant ones.

By removing irrelevant tags and focusing the text using the HivePulse tool, the score continued to improve.

After completing the editing, I met the criteria required by the analyzer.

(Note: Sometimes, the Meta Description indicator in the advanced menu may take some time to register until you click outside the box or publish the content, but the descriptive text is already configured.)

With these improvements, I achieved a score of 85. I was satisfied with this score and finished my post.

💡 What I Learned About SEO and GEO Positioning

My three biggest takeaways for improving my writing on Hive:

  • Get straight to the point from the first line: I learned to summarize the objective of my post in the first paragraph so that the reader and AI understand the topic immediately.

  • Create self-contained sentences: Each sentence should be clear even when read in isolation, avoiding reliance on ideas explained earlier.

  • Be specific with names: It's better to write "the Hive platform" or "the HivePulse extension" instead of using vague words like "this" or "that."

Learning to use HivePulse has allowed me to better understand how to improve our content on Hive so that it reaches more users outside of Hive. See you in the next post, guys, thanks for reading.
