В At the end of the first part (cantic) of the poem "Hell", Dante shows Cocytus as the ninth, the very last circle of hell, where the most terrible criminals are. Here is the abode of traitors and traitors, the greatest of which are Judas, Cassius and Brutus; Lucifer himself gnaws them with his three mouths.
