Warlord Kong WIP

In this post I will try to break the process of painting Warlord Kong of the Cartoon Miniatures into several phases.
Even though it was not planed to do this WIP I will use my working photos to show you steps.

Started with priming. I painted head separately in order to keep things cleaner.

Poor qualitiy but you get the picture :D

I was going to get fur and skin first. I wanted it to go dark but never full black. I need some grayish tone in it.

I really like how skin turned out.

Since it was mostly fur and skin, head was finished first

Finished head (not quite, there is still that tooth missing)

After finished fur and skin I wanted to do armour. It had to be NMM but i didnt know right tone and highlight positions so I made a sketch in PS for it.

PS sketch for armour

Not pleased with color nor positioning but I was more confident to go into process.

Started mixing colors. Decided to go with more yellowish gold than that bronze i did in sketch.

Armour partially over!

For blade i wanted to go bluish steel rather than pure silvery steel. I thought it would be good contrast to armour.
