Thunder

It's been raining all night,
I grew up in California... Santa Cruz area.....
I moved to Missouri last year to help my daughter was my grandbaby.
While I love the rain.... the thunder always startles me.... to the point that I start having anxiety... big laugh.. cause when don't i have anxiety.... let me rephrase.... I have always had anxiety.... and after several incidents that were highly damaging to my mental state.... I got the ever lasting gift of PTSD..... so while I am always bunny rabbit anxious..
... the loud noise of thunder, makes me jump out of my skin.
I take my meds, see my therapist, see my psychiatrist...... but other than being sedated to high heaven..... I get no relief. So.... if you need me... I'll be in my blanket fort with my noise cancelling headphones on.
