Engineers usually are involved in Planning environments where technology is changing and it is essentially that planning is based on the best estimate of the technology that will be available in future.Technology forecasting may be defined as the forecasting the future technology that may affect the operations of the enterprises it is the prediction based on conference that certain technical development can occur within a specified time period with a given level of resource allocation.Two types of Technological forecasting should be considered as such as normative and exploratory.
Normative forecasting some desired future goals are selected and process is developed for working backwards from the future to the present and designedto achieve these goals.
