Financial security is important to everyone's happiness as it's very hard to be in a good place if you're destitute. Taking this to an extreme however you'll (at best) end up dead with a big pile of money having never really enjoyed your life.

Unfortunately in our lives time is limited and we're constantly making some kind of economic choice as to how to spend that time. Thankfully, 'adult life skills' don't really take so long to learn. Truthfully you could learn how to do make up or cook in an hour a week for example. In fact, variety in your life will probably help you be better at whatever you do prioritise. As for 'finding yourself' it's never a finished process. Journalling, CBT, meditation and ambitious challenges are all great tools for getting to know who you are
