The best way to begin a HIVE account is with a post with the tag #introduceyourself . The post should say something about who you are, where you are from or talk about what you hope to accomplish on HIVE.

HIVE is a blockchain. There are multiple interfaces to the blockchain called tribes. The Tribes supplement HIVE rewards with alt-coins. I made a list of tribes on Internet Rivers.

The tribes give additional rewards for keywords. For example STEM is the tag used by the "Science, Technology, Engineering and Math" which wants academic articles on STEM subjects.

The Creative Coin tribe uses the tag CREATIVECOIN. FoodiesUnite uses the tag FOODIES.

If you want to blog on a specific subject, you could use the alt coins in your posts.

Be warned some of the tribes will downvote inappropriate content. For example LEO Finance seeks posts on cryptocurrency, but if you write posts about other content, they might downvote the content.
