A beer so bombastic with flavour, it came with its own gum shield!
A beer so bad-ass, I felt the need to remove all the colour from the cover photo, just incase your eyes explode.
A beer so strong, just a whiff would make Chuck Norris flinch.
This beer is so dark, it makes it’s own foam quiver.
Amundsen, Birthday Cake Celebration
Madagascar bourbon vanilla, Rocky road fudge cake, barrel aged stout.
Of all the barrel aged stouts, I think this one is the strongest I’ve tasted. Amundsen are absolute ninjas when it comes to hiding the alcohol behind complex levels of flavour. Their imperial stouts are legendary for this. But the gloves are most certainly off with this one! Not so much ninja, more like a full on Mongol assault!
The flavours are exceptional, deep, layered, indulgent, and very very moreish. But don’t get too comfortable, because this is a place where brain cells come to die. A once-a-year-beer for sure, but let’s enjoy it for being just that. Over flavoured, over boozy, and waaay over the top.
What’s not to love about that? It is your birthday after all, right?

Very strong, about 13% I think 😝 I do love these dessert beers and whenever I drink them I always have a pack of chocolate biscuits to dip with. I am a glutinous soul.

Sounds more like a desert than a beer.
I had something like this and it shows what beer can be. Something totally different as the light yellow drink most of the people know.

I guess when you set out to brew the most outrageous beer and toss aside any standard styles, you might as well go big and celebrate with cake.

If it were anyone but Amundsen doing this I’d be cautious (no I wouldn’t, I’m a sucker for them really 🤣). Amundsen do have a talent for this type of beer though.
Haha there is something special about a brewery that just goes over the top as a norm. You might like Flying Monkeys brewery over here if you ever visit.
It's the dessert stouts that always get my attention. When it comes to IPA, I can't resist a good NEIPA, the stronger the better 🙂
