About Platypus

   Good night steemian, tonight I will discuss about Platypus.  The platypus includes a strange animal from the animalia kingdom.The Platypus is a semi-aquatic mammal endemic to eastern Australia,including  Tasmania. Platypus is also  often known by the name duck-billed Platypus or duck-billed Platypus  due to the shape of its beak that same a duck.  Platypus are Mammals but lay eggs  and  usually mammals multiply by breeding, Like kangaroos and koalas, the platypus became the symbol of the Australian fauna.

   The body and the broad flat tail of this animal are covered with dense brown fur that traps a layer of insulating air to keep the animal warm.It has webbed feet and large rubbery snout, as well as the beak of the platypus used as a sensor.  Platypus weight ranges from below 1 kg to more than 2 kg  and usually the male size is larger than the female. Platypus has a  body length of 30 to 40 centimeters and a tail length of 10 to 15  centimeters for males and females 8 to 13 centimeters.The platypus has an average body temperature of 32 degrees celcius rather than 37 degrees celcius, that's typical of placental mammal.

     The platypus is a nocturnal and semi-aquatic animal. The platypus is a good swimmer and spends much of his time in the water looking for food. When swimming, the platypus closed his eyes tightly and left the rest to the other senses. The four feet of the platypus are webbed. When he swam, he pedaled with both front legs. And to keep the balance of his body used his tail and both hind legs.
