Palm leaf collector

While people are busily doing their daily chores , they hear the announcement from the island council. "The coconut palm leaf Thatch collecting boat has arrived". This is the happy news they have all been waiting for weeks. They stopped whatever work they have been doing and rush to start loading their palm leaf thatches on to the wheelbarrows. The sight of the beach becomes the most alive part of the island. It's like a festival, a celebration that everyone have been eagerly waiting for. You see people coming down to the beach from every side, heavily loaded. The best part is, they all have the same bright smile on their faces.

It is the golden date in their calendar which they anxiously wait for every month.They slump down a little and finally relax for the first time in around three weeks.
