The organization was founded in 2003 to advocate for recognition and assistance for the civilian victims of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. More than a decade later, CIVIC is a go-to source for effective civilian protection policy and practice and is a leading voice for civilians living in conflict throughout the world.
