Who said you couldn't have fun in the old days? Scientists have been trying to explain the preserved remains of a Pompeii victim who appears to be "knocking the top off". It appears that maybe all is not as it seems.....
When the body is affected by heat, there are many different non-natural contractions that can distort the corpse.

@aussiefester could be true...same as when someone gets electrocuted the hands clamp in a fist...therefore it is best to test if something is receiving voltage with the reverse of the hand and not with the inside...otherwise the tension itself will make you grab the object with electricity.
