Inner voice vs ego

Following your inner voice versus following your ego.... if you can’t get anything else out of your life you should learn when your higher self is actually your higher self talking... not your ego. The ego has a convincing grip on most people’s life. It likes to convince people of this or that.... that they are on the right track when they might not be...

Most people feel like going out and drinking weekly is the right thing for them... is that their higher self? Everyone knows what they could be doing to live their highest version of life, but few are doing it... why is this? Because living the highest version of life is a hell of a lot of work and most people prefer not to put out that kind of an effort...Or is just that the ego just speaking to them and the voice of the higher self who is willing to do the hard work has been killed off?

I mean... Just because it feels good doesn’t mean it’s good for you. But the ego works on the pleasure principle in a sense. Sure you should work to be happy. But overindulging in life’s pleasures can be a fallacy of the ego.... the spirit always wants to grow... which means that in many cases the spirit wants the hard road. It wants you to take the road that there is no turning back from... it wants you to unequivocally leave your old life behind...

this makes many people nervous.... so they stick with ego.... leave my old self behind? But I like my old self... well yes, leaving your old self is necessary because your old self may not be equipped to deal with the problems you are facing today!
