CNBC has termed it as a "big step" for the renowned investor in the technology sector.

On Wednesday, Berkshire Hathaway said it has increased its share of 23.3% by Apple. As a result, Apple's share in Berkshire's total was 16.53 million. And left out 94.5 percent of the IBM shares in their hands. Number of shares is 20.5 million

In 2017, Buffett told CNBC that he was more confident about Apple's share than IBM. Since then, he continued to invest money in Apple. In November of that year, Berkshire reported in a report that they had left 32 percent of IBM's shares and Apple has increased shares.

Before the announcement of this new information on Wednesday, Berkshire was fourth in the list of Apple's biggest investors.

Last year, Buffett said, "IBM is a very strong organization but their opponents are also very strong."
