Hello from the Midwest!

If you didn't already have enough to think about heading into the holiday weekend, I thought it would be a good time to introduce myself before the end of the year...

Hello everyone! My name is Brennan Fife, a 3rd-year student currently studying economics and computer sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Bucky!).

While it's kinda hard to summarize anyone in such a small post, I'll try to keep this one short and concise. When I'm not studying, you'd likely find me either foolishly throwing (and brutally bruising...) myself snowboarding or adding mileage into some long-distance running. Whether it be competitions out in Breckenridge or racing big ol' Boston, after 10 years, I have found both to be great tools to boost confidence and reduced stress.

In addition, I am always seeking to educate myself on anything within the tech industry. This includes anything from readings about mass-scale innovations that have taken place over the last 100 years, to podcasts on new Y-comb start-ups. For over the past year now, this has been especially true with blockchain tech, as I am sure it has been for most of you. While the topic is still fresh, I have found material covering international affairs and behavioral economics to be the most exciting.

At the start of this year, me and a few engineering friends successfully launched Badger Blockchain, bringing the first student blockchain organization to the University of Wisconsin.

Here, BB looks to bring together community leaders, university professors, and industry professionals with the intent of educating young engineering, computer science, business, and economic students on the development, use-cases, market analysis, and legalities of all things blockchain. While new, Badger Blockchain has seen healthy growth over the past few months, leading to partnerships with companies such as IBM and even thoughts of a blockchain course on campus.

So I decided to join Steemit, specifically to further learn from many like-minded individuals, gain new perspectives, and establish strong relationships from within the community.

I hope all of you have a safe and stellar holiday weekend and look forward to the time ahead!

On Wisconsin!
