A few years ago, Sawyer was an 11-year old who loved computers, math, and playing several musical instruments. Then, his father was diagnosed with brain cancer.

So Sawyer created his own World Community Grid team to donate computing time Mapping Cancer Markers. His goal is to donate 1,000 years of computing time to the project by September.
