You're not being mean by setting boundaries.
The sooner you set certain boundaries for different people and for everything in your life, you stop wasting time on people that don't deserve your energy,your moments and your happiness.

Totally agree. Boundaries protect your time and peace, and they also teach others how to treat you. What was one boundary you set that made the biggest difference?
Yeah
By doing the little things that matter to me
1)I greet people in the most hyperactive way ever daily! but few of those same people see me as irrelevant and don't return the same energy even if I don't greet them
So instead I greet only my friends now and people that return the same energy to me back
2)I don't allow just anybody come to my hostel unlike before....before I was so free that if any ask me "oh bee can I come sleepover at your place" I'd be like "oh sure no problem without thinking.
Realized those same people won't do the same when you need a place to run to

3)I picked the people I share information with,learnt not to over share still learning
Picking your circle in which you share your emotions, secrets, happiness with is very important. The day you share it with someone random, they'd either ghost you the next and not give 2 f*cks about you.
4)be your own person around your tribe, don't be free with everyone

Love how you’ve tightened your circle and matched energy. That hostel shift is huge, because reciprocity isn’t optional, it’s the point. I do a quick gut check after people time, if I feel smaller or drained, I change the access next time. Not being free with everyone doesn’t make you cold, it makes you clear, and it leaves more warmth for the ones who pour back.

For sure. Self-forgiveness is the reset that keeps you from spiraling, and learning it early is a gift. I see that “wasted” energy as tuition for better boundaries. What’s one little red flag you catch faster now?
