Time Keeps Moving | LMAC Freestyle

Hey, LMAC friends!

Another day, another new collage style. I really can’t seem to stick to just one style, so this time I decided to follow whatever felt right for my mood while creating this piece.

Honestly, during the process, I was mostly just following what my eyes were telling me. My head was filled with too many thoughts, almost like it was full of smoke, making it difficult to focus and decide what I actually wanted to create.

So this time, I didn’t really think too much about composition rules. I simply placed each element based on how it felt. If something looked right when I put it next to another element, I just left it there.

Unlike some of my previous collages, which were brighter and more colorful, I decided to make this one a little more muted and subdued. Somehow, the final result ended up looking like a book cover. Honestly, I’m not sure I really like it, because it doesn’t feel like my usual style.

But despite that, there is one part of this collage that I really like: the figure.

The figure covering its own face feels quite powerful to me. It doesn’t just look like someone hiding their face, but almost like someone who can no longer see because they have become their own obstacle. The hands covering the eyes and mouth feel like a symbol of having too many thoughts, wanting to see things clearly, but somehow being blocked by your own mind.

I then added the birds, the plant, and the clocks as supporting elements. The plant growing from the figure’s head feels like thoughts that continue to grow without us even realizing it, while the birds bring a small sense of freedom into the composition. The clocks, on the other hand, are a simple reminder that time keeps moving, even when we feel like we are standing still.

Maybe that is also why I chose “TIME KEEPS MOVING” as the main text at the bottom of the collage.

Anyway, this is just another little experiment of mine for LMAC. Not every experiment has to become a style that we love. Sometimes we simply need to try something different to realize that maybe it isn’t really our style after all. Haha.

But I guess that is also part of the fun of making collages.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my work. See you in my next experiment!
